Fund for Ariane

Commission time!

I have been convinced (and finally manned up) to do some commissions myself! My friend Ari is in a really tight spot with money. So much that she has gone weeks starving. Of course we can’t have that, so this will be my first time doing commissions and they’ll be solely for helping her through her more than unpleasant situation.

I’m not the only one and in all honesty I’m rather late to the commission party. Go check out the other commissioners at the Ariane Fund while you’re at it!

Some basic info about my commissions:

◘ I wish I could, but NSFW art is a no-no. I have no problem with it, I just don’t have the skills or balls to draw it, haha!

◘ Original characters are totally alright, but I’ll need some picture reference so I know what they look like. I can work with a detailed description, but then I can’t promise that I’ll hit your description spot on so I still recommend that you put a picture with it.

◘ Other fandoms are okay as well. I can’t promise that I will know what the character looks like if it’s not from Homestuck so throw in a picture of the character.

◘ Don’t give me TOO complex requests; I’m still a developing artist so there are still some things that I’m not too good at. Nevertheless I’ll do my best, but please be reasonable with me.

◘ Please try and keep it humanoid. I CAN draw animals and to some extent mythical creatures, but I’m still best at humanoids.

◘ I’ll be putting the prices in USD and DKK.

Bust shot – Either B+W or simple colours: 10$ / 50 kr (+5$ for colours)

Waist up shots: 15$ / 75 kr (+5$ for colours )

Full body shot: 20$ / 100 kr (+10$ for colours)

All commissions are an additional 10$ / 50 kr for another character or element (such as animals, bikes, etc.) Prices may vary if the request is particularly complex.

I don’t bite, so if you want to ask for shading, special textures, a certain type of colouring I can’t promise that you’ll get it, but I can be bargained with so we can work something out!

This is my first time doing commissions so I’m starting out with three slots. When these three are completed I might open up for some more, but until then it’ll remain three.

When that’s done and we’re clear on the amount of money, it’s time for the payment. All payments go through Paypal and goes straight to Ari’s Paypal account, heroknight@gmail.com. When sending the money through Paypal, please make sure to specify that you’re paying for one of my commissions. You can call me Pu-chan, Puridan or just Pu.

But still, mind you, I’m still new with this so if I mess something up, naturally I’ll fix it, but please bear with me here, practise makes perfect.

Unfortunately I haven’t posted anything in a few months, so I have no examples of recent fanfiction (which has improved), but the first chapter of Cinder Toffee is the most accurate representation of my recent work.

And if it’s not related to my fandoms, you’ll have to tell me about the characters you’ll be wanting me to draw. Like their personalities, so I know what facial expressions to give them.

I don't mean to be seeking out attention or anything for this, but I saw the intro post reblogged, and it really touched me, and I decided just to donate to help out a little. I was concerned it didn't go through Paypal or sooomething because I didn't get a 'thank you' email or anything like that. It made me worried that it didn't get to who it was supposed to. I've never sent money on paypal as a 'gift' so I don't even know if it comes up as anonymous. Anonymous

Hi! Thank you so much for the donation. <3 You are supposed to receive a receipt from PayPal but sometimes the receipt doesn’t arrive immediately (I don’t know why). Check your PayPal account’s transfer history to see if it went through if you are not sure it did.

Um, hi there! I'm just a random anon, but I just wanted to point something out about the Ari Fund and it's participants.

All the artists involved are really great! And I think it's so very nice they want to help out, but I must warn you, all Homestuck fanart sold for money is prohibited.

Hussie himself said that all commissioned works for canon characters must be approved through him.

Unless the Ari Fund is approved by Hussie, you can't do fanart of the homestuck cast. :( Even if the money is going to a charity, you have to ask first! I just don't want to see anyone get in trouble for trying to do good things.

Hello, random anon! I am guessing this message was directed at Mawiles? Only me (Frowny) and Grapplez are mods here, so I am going to respond to this.

From talking to other artists and reading Hussie’s original message about this, it sounds like he has no issue with people doing one-off drawing commissions of Homestuck characters. It’s only when it’s something that can be mass-produced such as prints, bookmarks, fanbooks, etc that he does not approve.

However, I will drop him an e-mail today because this is the second time a concerned fan has sent one of us a message like this. We are really not trying to infringe on copyright laws here and we all respect Andrew Hussie, so I will ask for permission officially.
